There’s something magic about the Gold Coast, isn’t there? Whether it’s the salty breeze off the ocean, the soft rustle of gum trees in the hinterland, or the golden late afternoon light that lingers a little longer in summer — it’s a place where love feels right at home.
As a celebrant, I’m lucky enough to witness love stories unfold all across this stunning stretch of coastline. And if you’re in the middle of planning your wedding and wondering where should we do this beautiful thing? — here’s a little guide to some of the Gold Coast’s most beloved ceremony locations.
For the Lovers of Sand and Sea
There’s something undeniably romantic about the beach — barefoot vows, toes in the sand, and that gorgeous sea breeze sweeping your words up into the sky.
Froggies Beach at Coolangatta is one of those sweet, tucked-away treasures. Sheltered by the headland, it’s intimate and breathtaking. For couples wanting a blend of privacy and ocean beauty — this one is a favourite. But be awaren, it is a popular stretch of coast and parking can be tricky. So this is a spot best for those staying locally. Further north, Burleigh Headland offers a dreamy mix of ocean and forest, with a choice of ceremony spots either on the sand looking out over rolling surf, or amongst the volcanic rocks. It's honestly one of the most soulful spots to say “I do.” Main Beach gives off elegant, windswept vibes — think long stretches of sand and that soft, endless horizon — perfect for a sunrise ceremony or golden-hour vows.
And if you’re after something vibrant and a little bit fun, the Rainbow Stairs at Miami offer a pop of colour and a view that’s pure Gold Coast magic — it’s a playful and totally unique spot for couples who love something a little different. It is free to marry on a Gold Coast beach, but you do need a permit (I can help with that).
For the Garden Dreamers
Not everyone wants sand between their toes — some hearts are called to the green.
Cascade Gardens in Broadbeach with its winding paths and riverside spots, it’s a versatile and charming space. The Gold Coast Botanic Gardens at Benowa is a favourite for good reason. Big fig trees, lake views, and that “secret garden” feeling — it's perfect for couples who want nature’s beauty as their backdrop.
And if you’re dreaming of something more elevated (literally!), Mt Tamborine Botanic Gardens in the hinterland is a fairytale. Cooler air, forested edges, and bursts of floral colour in every direction — it’s ideal for those wanting a romantic escape from the coast. Like our beaches, gardens and parks require a permit and a fee. I can help you navigate these logistics and talk you through contingency plans as well, because it is always good to have an indoor plan B for your wedding day.
For the Chapel-Hearted
If you’ve always dreamed of a chapel — don’t worry, the Gold Coast has you covered.
Broadwater Chapel is light-filled, intimate and right on the marina — modern but with that classic feel. The chapel at the Crowne Plaza Broadbeach is a beautiful indoor option, air-conditioned (yes please in summer!) and effortlessly elegant.
Tucked beside the water with its soft white steeple and glass-fronted charm, Sanctuary Cove Chapel feels like it was made for quiet, heartfelt "I do’s" and timeless beginnings. And then there’s St Margaret’s at HOTA, for those wanting a chapel with a canal backdrop and parkland gardens for photos — it’s unique, stylish, and full of character, just like the precinct that surrounds it.
For Something a Little Different
If rooftops, fairy lights and signature cocktails are your thing, there are some amazing rooftop bars that double as ceremony and reception venues — like The Collective at Palm Beach and the gorgeously eccentric Pink Hotel in Coolangatta. With a view of the sky and the sparkle of the sea, a rooftop location can be perfect for couples who want a celebration that flows straight into the night.
Evergreen Garden Venue is another hidden gem — a private estate wrapped in vintage romance, with manicured gardens and a sense of timelessness. It’s like stepping into another world.
And then there are well-loved spaces like Parkwood Village, which make wedding planning easy and offer everything in one spot — ceremony, celebration, and plenty of room for dancing.
In the End…
Where you choose to say your vows should feel like you. Whether it’s on a beach at sunrise, in a forest clearing with birdsong above, or under a floral arch on a rooftop as the city lights start to twinkle — this moment is yours.
So breathe it in, take your time, and trust that the right place will find you — just like your person did. And, if you have questions please ask, I am here to help.
